Dartmouth College students may attend the Williams-Mystic Maritime Studies Program under the Twelve College Exchange.
All
of the Twelve College exchange colleges except Dartmouth operate on a
semester schedule. A Dartmouth student wishing to participate for the
first semester can adjust the semester to the Dartmouth fall term, but
the second semester takes part of both winter and spring terms at
Dartmouth. Ordinarily students earn four credits in a semester. Each of
the colleges differs in its academic offerings, strengths of various
departments and the geographical and social environments.
Applications
for the ensuing year, either for the first or second semester, must be
submitted by February 1; sometimes it is possible to negotiate
individual arrangements subsequently. The application process stresses
the importance of the particular exchange program and courses in a
student's program. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative
grade-point average of 3.0
Students pay the tuition, room and board for each semester at one of the twelve colleges directly to the host college.
Upon
completion of the exchange, the exchange coordinator at the host
institution will forward the transcript to the Office of the Registrar,
Dartmouth College. Future transcripts of exchange program grades must
be obtained by the student from the exchange institution.
